About SAMK
Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) is located on the west coast of Finland and spread across 4 campuses which are located in Pori, Rauma, Huittinen and Kankaanpää.
SAMK has 6,000 students in 4 different faculties: Health and Welfare, Logistics and Maritime Technology, Service Business, and Technology. Annually, we offer about 1,000 new study places in over 30 degree programmes. We have 7 Bachelor’s and 4 Master’s Degree Programmes conducted totally in English. Furthermore, we offer many selective courses in English, both online and face-to-face. We also offer continuing education, made-to-order programmes, open university studies and summer studies.
SAMK is also known for it's quality of education. The students have ranked SAMK to be among the five best universitites of applied sciences in Finland. All programmes are accredited by Finland’s Ministry of Education, in addition to these striking qualities, the degree programmes of International Business and Business Management and Entrepreneurship are being awarded NIBS International Accreditation for a period of 5 years from May 2018.
Satakunta, the oldest historical province in Finland, is located on the southwest coast of Finland. The regional centres are the city of Pori and the city of Rauma.
It is a very clean and safe region to study and live in. It is a coastal area with lovely harbours and friendly small towns. The region is rich in history, for example with two Unesco World Heritage Sites. There are lots of events, an interesting cultural life and plenty of creative people. And fantastic nature all around us.
